Contribute to the Dr. Kathy James Fund
Help Fund Research that will Help CRF Kitties

Emma credits Dr. Kathy James with the original thinking behind many of her suggestions.
Dr. Kathy joined the CRF list about the time Emma really needed her, and Dr. Kathy continues to do pro bono work for the kitties on the CRF list.  Emma wants to encourage everyone to support work being done to help CRF kitties.

Allen Calvin (a CRF list member) has set up a research fund to honor Dr. Kathy James and support research work for CRF kitties at the University of Florida.

Katie says: "Please contribute to
the Dr. Kathy Fund."

At Dr. Kathy's suggestion, the fund will support the research of Dr. Julie Levy on erythropoietin.  Dr. Kathy said she was "honored" by the creation of this fund and was particularly excited by the possibilities inherent in Dr. Levy's research since it could well lead to a solution of the antibody problem.

"Ditto thanks Dr. Kathy for helping her live a quality life years past what was ever thought possible. Ditto was diagnosed with CRF at the age of 2 years old.  She was able to survive CRF for over 5 1/2 years thanks to the work done by Dr. Kathy
to help CRF cats."

As Allen said, "Here is our chance to accomplish two goals at the same time.  We can acknowledge everything that Dr. Kathy has done for us and our companions and at the same time fight back against CRF!"
Angel Ms. Cyrano
Although Ms Cyrano and I never met Dr. Kathy, there is no doubt in my mind that she had a profound influence on our living successfully with CRF for 19 months!
Through Dr. Kathy's participation on "feline-CRF-Support@ yahoogroups.com", I learned about the disease of CRF, how home therapy would help my kitty, treatment options and understanding lab results. I learned what questions to ask my kitty's Vets and I shared with them information I learned.
The CRF Support List enjoys a great reputation for providing accurate information to those of us dealing with feline CRF, in large part because of Dr. Kathy's dedication to education. I thank her from the bottom of my heart and I am thrilled that Allen has arranged a way for us to honor Dr. Kathy's efforts by donating to the fund for research on feline erythropoietin at the University of Florida.
In appreciation,
